Gary Chan, PE

Bridge Expert / Engineer

A graduate of the University of North Dakota, Gary Chan is a professional engineer (PE) licensed in the state of Kansas. Mr. Chan has over 40 years of experience in Bridge Design at the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). During his long and illustrious career as a Bridge Engineer, he has acquired extensive knowledge and experience in his field. Gary lives in Topeka and he is a member of Sunflower Design's Panel of Experts.

Shoeb Uddin, MS, PE, PTOE

Former City Engineer of Lawrence, Kansas

Shoeb Uddin has spent over 12 years in the private sector and 5 years in the public sector as the City Engineer of Lawrence, Kansas. Shoeb is now back in the private sector and he is currently the president of Sunflower Design, LLC. Shoeb is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Kansas and Ohio, and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) nationwide.

Glyn Day, EIT

Marketing Engineer

Former Mayor of Overbrook, Kansas, Glyn Day has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas and he has been an engineer in training (EIT) in Kansas for many years. Drawing from his mayoral experience, Glyn has a unique understanding of the needs and challenges of our Kansas communities. Glyn is the perfect choice as the Marketing Engineer of Sunflower Design.

Ed Byrd, PE

Senior Water Resources Engineer

After a 33 year career with the Division of Water Resources, Kansas Department of Agriculture, Ed Byrd recently joined our firm to lead the Watershd Program. Ed brings a lifelong experience to assist our clients in all things related to Watershed Planning and Administration including Dam Safety Inspection.
